Quotes from the Lotus Sutra, Vol. 1
"The wisdom of Buddhas is both profound and immeasurable, and the gateways to this wisdom are hard to understand and enter. No śrāvaka or pratyekabuddha can apprehend it. Why is this? This is because every Buddha has been closely associated with hundreds of thousands of billions of Buddhas in the past to fully practice the infinite paths of Buddhas, to be courageous and diligent, to be universally known, to attain profound and unprecedented Dharma, and to teach others wherever and whenever possible. Yet the true meaning and intent of these Dharmas are too profound to grasp."
