Quotes from Yogācārabhūmi-Śāstra, Vol.53
“For what purpose are the various aggregates established? That is, all forms, from the distant past to the recent and current lifetimes, the form aggregate, including consciousness and other aggregates. As such, these are all briefly subsumed under the mode of aggregates. Accumulation denotes the principle of aggregates. Furthermore, all the various aggregates merely have myriad names, specific characteristics, and all compounded phenomena. In light of this, we should understand that the purpose of setting up various aggregates is to manifest the no-self (selfless) nature of all aggregates.”
